Blackstone
The project is located in the West Musgrave region, WA. The primary target is nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation hosted by the layered gabbroic intrusions.
Resource Mining Corporation (ASX:RMI) has a 10 per cent non-contributing free carried position in a joint venture with Redstone Resources Ltd (ASX:RDS).
The Blackstone Range Project (E69/2108 & E69/2109) overlies a significant gabbroic intrusion known as the Saturn Complex. The magnetic feature shows 15 discernable magnetic rings and is interpreted to be a core shaped feeder to the Giles Intrusion Complex.
This type of layered intrusion is comparable to mineralised feeders at Jinchuan in China and the Great Dyke of South Africa, both hosting world class Nickel (Ni), Copper (Cu) and Platinum Group Elements (PGE) mineralisation.
The primary exploration target is at Halleys. The Halleys target was first drilled with a Rotary Air Blast (RAB) and shallow Reverse Circulation (RC) drill in 2007 and again followed up in 2008 and 2010. A mineralized zone in excess of 100m thick was defined which yielded a peak intercept of 74m of 0.33 per cent Cu and 0.24g/t PGE+Au including 20m @ 0.56 per cent Cu, 0.14 per cent Ni and 0.32g/t PGE+Au (from 16m).
