Food Policy

Resource Mining Corporation has a buy local procurement policy as part of our commitment to the villages where we operate. We aim to purchase local food and vegetables on a weekly basis.

There are two main villages adjacent to the operations and each village takes a turn to deliver food to camp. The local procurement policy coupled with regular purchases encourages the delivery of good quality produce and provides a source of income to a broad section of the community.

This income goes directly to the growers of the fresh food and women generally tend the gardens as well as look after the families.

Fresh food is important is to the health of Resource Mining Corporation workers and our health education policy on the benefits of eating fresh, healthy and locally grown food is reinforced at the Wowo Gap camp.

In terms of a broader education process, our goal is that the camp experience will be taken back to the villages by the workers.
