Education

In PNG, the national government provides school teachers but the villages must provide the school facilities.

To support the education process, Resource Mining Corporation provides basic equipment such as pens, pencils, books, writing paper, and sporting goods to local village schools.

By providing equipment, the children see the benefit. Donating money is an inefficient means of support with financial donations not always providing the desired equipment.

Like all parents, PNG nationals are concerned about their children’s education. Secondary education is not free with school fees to be paid.

Many of the workers at Wowo Gap save the money they earn to pay school fees. The provision of employment at Wowo Gap to local villages has a side benefit of contributing to the education of current and future generations.
