Exploration Target
Following the completion of wacker drilling south of the current Inferred Resource area in 2008 (Figure 1), the results (Table 1) have provided RMC with sufficient confidence to outline a further 100Mt Ni Laterite Exploration Target (Figure 2).
Drilling has confirmed the presence of Ni laterite along strike to the south of the current resource area beneath a shallow cover of volcanic ash. The ash layer is up to 5m thick (typically 2m thick), and covers the laterite geology.

In most holes the wacker rods managed to penetrate both the ash and limonite horizons, however the rods were unable to penetrate the saprolite horizon due to the presence of hard core stones of ultramafic rock. Diamond drilling will be required to fully test the underlying saprolite profile.
The tenor of the Ni intersected within the limonite horizon is typical for Wowo Gap ranging from 0.5 to 0.9% Ni, therefore indicating similar bedrock geology and potential for the higher grade rocky saprolite beneath the limonite as noted from diamond drilling within the current resource area.
The surface area of the exploration target is 10sqkm and a laterite (limonite+saprolite) thickness of 7m (1.5t/m3 insitu bulk density) has been assumed to generate the exploration target (The average thickness of the current 200Mt resource is 10m).
There is also potential for further Ni laterite mineralisation along strike to the north of the current resource area, which remains largely untested.
